A non-profit organization whose volunteer members are breast cancer survivors, friends and supporters. The Council raises funds for Bay Area non-profit organizations dedicated to providing emotional and non-medical support to women diagnosed with breast cancer and education and prevention services pertaining to breast health and breast cancer. A resource center for anyone with a breast health concern. Trained volunteers assist visitors in locating up-to-date information. Educational events and “Ask the Expert” lectures presented throughout the year. Hours: Staffed from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM Mon.-Fri.

They also offer short-term focused groups, individual programs for people who have been treated at MGH, and movement classes. They are now offering Help & Home delivered meals for people in treatment for cancer under the age of 65. Contact Wendy Kahn (415) 925-7622. The B.H.F. empowers individuals to make better, informed health care decisions regarding prevention and treatment. They offer free support services for children and teens with cancer and their families, A Bay Area Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer Resource Guide, a Worksite Colorectal Cancer Awareness Program, and national and international programs.
