Caregiving 101 Training Program: 6 three-hour classes designed to help families and friends care for thier loved ones at home who are living with serious illness. It features practical skills and strategies for family caregivers. It is taught by community professionals who volunteer thier time. The course is free.

Resource Center for families of brain impaired adults. Social workers can meet with you and provide information and referrals, respite programs (Camps for Caring 4 times a year for the brain impaired adult), financial assistance, retreats for caregivers, can help pay for short term counseling for the caregiver.

Support for parents, grandparents, and siblings after a death of a child (any age). They have support groups for parents, siblings, and grandparents in Mill Valley and San Francisco, and a support group for adult siblings in San Rafael. They offer a newsletter and website. Their website has a listing of many grief support groups in Marin County and in the Bay Area.

Complimentary group and individual counseling for family members of a deceased hospice patient within the first 13 months of the death. Free weekly drop-in groups at all three locations for the community. Sliding scale support groups and individual counseling for the community. Speciality groups include those for spousal/partner loss, parental loss, sibling loss, LGBTQ community, survivors of suicide, pet loss. Additional groups may include Coping with Loss during the Holidays, mindfulness and grief, as well as art of writing related groups.

Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption Grief Support Group
A free monthly grief support group is held on third Wednesdays of each month at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption Support groups meet at 1111 Gough Street San Francisco, CA at the corner of Gough and Geary Streets. Join others for support, connection, and prayer. These sessions provide information on the grief process, and tips on coping with the loss of a loved one.
