Medical Aid-in-Dying: A Clinician’s Perspective
with Rick Mendius, MD

Saturday, May 4, 2024
10am – 11:30am PT/ 1pm – 2:30pm ET

The Project welcomes Richard Mendius as a Guest Speaker in our ongoing series! This event will include a dialogue between Rick and our President Doug Wallace followed by Q&A.

The Living/Dying Project does not take a position on Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD). We as a nonprofit and our volunteers provide compassionate spiritual support to all persons and their families without regard to their choice about MAiD. We and our volunteers do not assist with the preparation and/or administration of any medication including those used for MAiD. This legislation profoundly impacts individuals grappling with end-of-life issues, and we offer this talk to consciously embrace, rather than shy away from, the realities and decisions individuals encounter.

Join us for an enlightening talk with Rick as he delves into the poignant topic of California’s End of Life Act and unveils the profound provisions that it offers to those facing irremediable conditions. He will demystify the process that is currently required to obtain the medical mixtures. Additionally, he will share poignant glimpses into the typical experiences of patients and their families, shedding light on the journey towards peace and dignity.

Listen as Rick shares his own spiritual and clinical perspectives, offering a profound blend of wisdom and empathy. How deep can we go with our understanding and compassion? Reserve your spot today to be part of this transformative conversation.

There will be time for questions for those who register for the event.

A private zoom link will be provided upon registration and we kindly ask that you do not share it as this is a fundraising event for Living/Dying Project. The event will be recorded and a replay link will be sent to all registrants within 48 hours of the event.

Proceeds go to sustain the ongoing work of the Living/Dying Project.

Thank you for your support!
