We welcome Guest Teacher Sonia Potie, a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner, to give a dharma talk on how we relate to our perceptions and reality, and how we may unconsciously hold onto grief, doubt, worry, confusion or fear. How can we turn toward acceptance and healing creating for ourselves a different reality? Sonia does not publicize her work and we welcome the opportunity to share her wisdom.
This event will include Meditation, Dharma Talk, and Q&A.
A private zoom link will be emailed by Thursday, Oct 27th end of day. Registration closes Saturday, Oct 29th @ 9am PT. This event will be recorded and a link will be sent to all registrants to view up until 30 days after.
Proceeds go to sustain the ongoing work of the Living/Dying Project.
More information about Sonia:
Sonia is an artist and mystic who offers spiritual teachings, healing, guidance, counseling, and mentorship. She has spent most of her adult life closely apprenticing herself to spiritual mentors in the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, Yoga, psychic energy healing, and other psycho-spiritual and somatic healing arts. She has been granted permission by her Tibetan Buddhist Lamas to teach as well as give vows and empowerments in that tradition. She loves sharing Dharma, writing songs, taking walks along the river with her husband and children, and lately playing with an omnichord from the 80’s that she inherited from her father. As a working mother of three, she has developed an approach to spiritual development that is accessible and workable in modern everyday life. With a mixture of depth and playfulness, she offers tools for relaxing into the mystery, playfully co-creating reality, and coming to terms with the heart-wrenching realities of life as it is.
“The compassion and clarity that Sonia brings to the universe has allowed me to lift the fog of illusion and begin to explore reality apart from my learned fear patterns. Her determination and agency to teaching the Dharma deepens my own faith in the spiritual quest.”
– Chris Beaudry, Farmer, Grief Group Facilitator, and Board Member of Living/Dying Project
“My time with Sonia has been the most transformative, clarifying, and empowering experience of my life. I have learned that it’s possible to experience true contentment with one’s life regardless of the circumstances. My life has become much more playful, joyful, and easeful. Even in the midst of rapid change and painful loss, there is now an underlying lightness to all of it.”
– Robert Braid, Counselor and End-of-Life Caregiver
